Cards' ranked duo of Rodriguez and Suswam will lead the Cards
The University of Louisville women's tennis team will host its first dual meets of the spring season this Saturday when they take on intrastate rival Western Kentucky at 10:30 and Southern Illinois at 3:30 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
Â
The Cards are led by the doubles team of Ariana Rodriguez and Sena Suswam, who are ranked No. 54 in the nation according to the ITA poll. UofL's lineup will have several new faces including the return of star recruit Ola Mally, who was a medical redshirt a year ago.
Â
The Lady Toppers finished fall play in November with an overall record of 46-20 in four tournaments. The fall schedule was highlighted by junior Andreanna Christopoulouwho went 7-1 in singles and received a No. 114 ITA ranking in January. She and her doubles partner, Cynthia Melita, had a 7-2 record in the fall and were ranked No. 9 in the Ohio Valley region.
Â
The Saluki's have a new face at No. 1 singles as they have added Xiwei Cai from Tianjin, China. The addition of Cai has created more competition in practice and has shuffled SIU's lineup. UofL beat SIU 7-0 in their last matchup.Â
