Cards send four freshmen to Purdue Invitational this weekend
The University of Louisville men's tennis team will travel to West Lafayette, Ind., for the Purdue Fall Invitational which will be held Sept. 25-27 at the Schwartz Tennis Center and the Purdue Rec Sports Center Tennis Courts.
The tournament format consists of six singles flights and three doubles flights with play beginning at 8 a.m. each day. The field features 14 teams in addition to the Cardinals and the host Boilermakers. Other teams in attendance include: Ball State, Butler, Chicago State, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, IUPUI, Lewis University, Marquette, Southern Illinois, Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, Toledo, Indianapolis and Wright State.
Freshmen Christian Haushammer, George Hedley, Brandon Lancaster and Brian Tsao will represent Louisville in their first competition as Cardinals.
"I am excited for our freshman class debut," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "Most of college tennis knew the great senior class that graduated last season, but now it is time to introduce some of their replacements. We had four weeks to prepare them and it will be interesting to see how much they have learned. This is the beginning of the process."
