Marchanka, Nord Named to All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - University of Louisville senior Darya Marchanka and junior Katie Nord were named to the 2015 All-ACC Academic team on Monday.
A native of Minsk, Belarus, Marchanka rowed in the Cardinals' varsity eight boat throughout the season and was a First Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honoree. Marchanka (business economics major) closed her collegiate rowing career as a two-time CRCA All-Region honoree as well as a two-time All-Conference selection.
Nord, a Louisville native and a graduate of Mercy Academy, also competed in Louisville's varsity eight boat during the 2015 season and was a Second Team All-ACC selection. In her first three seasons with the Cardinals, Nord (bioengineering major) is a two-time CRCA Scholar Athlete selection.
Louisville closed its inaugural season in the conference with a fourth-place team finish at the ACC Championship on May 15-16 in Clemson, South Carolina. The Cardinals earned a trio of runner-up finishes in the five grand finals during the two-day event on Lake Hartwell.
To be nominated for the All-ACC Academic team, student-athletes must have recorded a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average in the winter semester and have maintained a 3.0 career GPA at their respective schools.
