
Cardinals Produce 96 Percent Graduation Success Rate

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville student-athletes achieved a department-record 96% Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in the latest report released Wednesday by the NCAA.
Louisville's 96% GSR beats the school's previous best mark of 93% achieved last season. The GSR was developed 23 years ago to account for transfers, including mid-year enrollees, into the university who graduate and those who leave in good academic standing.
"The four-year figures released Wednesday reflect graduation numbers among student-athletes who entered college from 2015 to 2018."
Nineteen programs attained a GSR of 84 or better in the most recent report, with 17 programs achieving a 90 or higher.
Ten programs – Men's Basketball, Men's Golf, Men's Tennis, Women's Cross Country/Track, Field Hockey, Women's Golf, Women's Soccer, Softball, Women's Tennis , Volleyball – recorded a perfect 100 mark.
UofL's student-athletes combined to produce a 3.397 GPA for the 2025 spring semester, marking the 29th straight semester with a department-wide GPA of 3.0 or better. The impressive numbers also include 99 student-athletes who finished the spring term with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Eighteen programs achieved a team grade point average of better for the spring semester, which included the football program at 3.004. Women's golf produced the department's highest team GPA of 3.846 while baseball held the highest team GPA of UofL's men's programs at 3.553.
They also placed 447 student-athletes on the Atlantic Coast Conference 2024-25 Academic Honor Roll for student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a GPA of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. Louisville was one of six schools with more than 400 student-athletes earning recognition.
