Jones and Sims Earn Academic All-District Honors

The University of Louisville's Kelsi Jones and Brittany Sims have been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic Softball All-District 2 first team. Both will be eligible for Capital One Academic All-America® consideration which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Jones, a senior psychology major Carmel, Ind, leads the Cardinals with a .375 batting average, 36 runs and 17 doubles. The outfielder earned first team All-ACC honors in 2015.
Sims, a junior chemistry major from Lexington, Ky., carries a 333 batting average with 27 runs, five home runs and 15 RBIs as the Cardinals' starting second baseman.
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
