Becker Named ACC Softball Pitcher of the Week

The University of Louisville's Maryssa Becker has been named ACC Softball Pitcher of the Week after tossing a pair of complete-game shutouts and earning the win in the Cardinals' 1-0 upset of No. 8/10 Florida State.
Maryssa Becker (Medford, Ore.) did not allow a run and posted two complete game shutouts on the week - including one against No. 8/10 Florida State. The sophomore RHP registered a career-high 10 strikeouts in a 5-0 win at DePaul Wednesday. In that game, she helped her cause with a home run for her team-best sixth of the season. Becker went on to post her second straight complete-game shutout in the Cards' 1-0 win over ACC leader No. 8/10 Florida State on Saturday. Becker fanned two and held the Seminoles to four hits. On the week, Becker scattered eight hits in 14.0 innings of work.
She now leads the team with a 10-4 record, a 2.49 ERA and 99 strikeouts.
