The University of Louisville dropped the doubles point and but won three singles matches as the Cardinals fell to the Orange Friday evening in Syracuse.

Uof L won at No. 3 doubles when Chloe Willetts and Olivia Boesing beat Breanna Bachini and Nicole Mitchell 8-3. The Orange managed to hold off Ariana Rodriguez and Elle Stokes at No. 1 with an 8-6 win. Manuela Velasquez and Ellie Gerlach fell 8-4 at No. 2 to give SU the doubles point.

UofL got a singles point from Manuela Velasquez when she won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4. The other point came from Chloe Willetts who won at No. 6 with a 6-1, 6-1 decision over Nicole Mitchell. The Cards' third point came from Elle Stokes at No. 2, who won her first set, dropped the second and then won when Valeria Salazar had to retire.

The Cardinals head to Boston College on Sunday for another ACC matchup at 10:30.
