
Women's Tennis Falls to Minnesota

The No. 66-ranked University of Louisville tennis team fell 5-1 to No. 71 Minnesota in Huntington, W.V. Saturday evening.
The Cards dropped No. 1 doubles 8-2 and No. 2 doubles 8-3 to give the Gophers a 1-0 lead going into singles.
Jessie Lynn Paul fell at No. 2 6-0, 6-2 to Caroline Ryba for UM's first single point. Next to fall was Elle Stokes, who went down 5-7, 6-1, 1-0(retired) at No. 1. Manuela Velasquez chalked up Louisville's only point with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles. Minnesota won at No. 5 when Aria Lambert edged Chloe Willetts 6-5, 7-6 (7-2) for the clinch.
The Cards return home on February 20 to face ACC foe Notre Dame.
