Cardinals Wrap Up Exhibition Play with a 77-68 Win

Cards hold off a late rally from Kentucky Wesleyan
LOUISVILLE, KY. -- The University of Louisville men's basketball team held off a late charge by Kentucky Wesleyan Monday night to wrap up exhibition play with a 77-68 win in the KFC Yum! Center.Â
Damion Lee scored 19 points, Chinanu Onuaku added 11 points and six rebounds and Mangok Mathiang had six points, eight rebounds and six blocks. C.J. Blackwell led the Panthers with 22 points while Ken-Jah Bosley finished with 18 points and Jordan Jacks finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

The Cards took their biggest lead of 18 points with 4:34 remaining. The Louisville bench was cleared and the Panthers rallied, cutting the lead to six after a 3-pointer from Blackwell. Quentin Snider kept the Panthers at bay, hitting a 3-pointer with 27 seconds to play.
Louisville finished the game shooting 41.4 percent from the field and just 28.6 percent from the 3-point line. They finished the game hitting 23 of 32 from the foul line for 71.9 percent. Kentucky Wesleyan finished the game shooting 36.1 percent from the field and just 28.6 percent from behind the arc. They connected on 18 of 22 from the foul line, hitting 81.8 percent. Louisville opens the 2015-16 season on Friday against Samford in the KFC Yum! Center at 7:00 p.m.
