LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Ellen Kehoe wrapped up a strong two-day performance on Tuesday with a 5-over-par 221 at the Bearcats Fall Classic, tying for first-place honors at the TPC River's Bend.
Competing in her first three-round tournament in her collegiate career, Kehoe shot consecutive rounds of 1-under-par 71 on Monday before clubbing a 7-over-par 79 in the final day of the tournament.
The Campbellsville, Ky., native's early scores were strong enough to keep her atop the leaderboard, but she fell to the eventual individual champion and Cincinnati's Tara Liebert in a one-hole playoff.
A freshman, Kehoe had the best par-4 (4.10) and par-5 (4.75) averages and tied for the tournament lead with 11 birdies.
Junior Shannon Gramley had the Cardinals' best third-round score, shooting an even-par 72 in the final day of the event. She totaled nine birdies over the course of two days and tied for the third-best par-4 score (4.17) to push herself into a tie for fifth. The 8-over-par 224 is tied for a collegiate best.
Classmate Louise Oxner shot a 1-over-par 73 in the final round and tied for 12th with a 16-over-par 232. She finished just four strokes shy of earning a top-10 showing.
Freshman Jacqueline Twitty wrapped up the Louisville Black team's scoring finishers, tying for 29th with a 26-over-par 242.
The Cardinals, who tied for the best par-5 score, took third in the team race, while host Cincinnati won the title.
