Cards Fall Slate Continues
The University of Louisville women's tennis team is set to continue its fall campaign in West Lafayette, Ind., for the Purdue Invitational this weekend at the Schwartz Tennis Center.
The three-day tournament allows individual singles players and doubles duos an opportunity to match up with opponents from each school. The field features eight teams in addition to the Cardinals and the host Boilermakers. The other teams in attendance include: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Memphis, Miami (Ohio), Michigan State, Mississippi State, and Notre Dame.
The Cardinals look to build off a great start when two singles players and a doubles team were crowned titles at the Mizzou Invitational a few weeks ago. Freshman Abbie Pahz won No. 3 singles while sophomore Jessie Lynn Paul posted four wins over the weekend en route to the No. 6 singles award. The duo of Elle Stokes and Ariana Rodriguez won the No. 2 doubles title after defeating Nebraska and Penn State.
Louisville will take a weekend off before resuming fall play with the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships on Oct. 15.Â
