The University of Louisville women's tennis team won both the doubles point and then swept all six singles matches for a 7-0 win over Duquesne Sunday morning at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

"Better today, we were much better today," said UofL coach Mark Beckham. "We are moving in the direction I want this weekend. We are a little better each match. We have one more match later this afternoon and hopefully there will continued improvement there too."

In doubles, the Cardinal pair of Chloe Willetts and Olivia Boesing made quick work of Alexa Miller and Zuzanna Stelmaszak with a 6-2 win at No. 2. The Cardinal No. 3 pair of Elle Stokes and Ellie Gerlach beat Ally Miller and Megan Wisson 6-2 at No. 3 to clinch the point.

In singles, Chloe Willetts struck first again, this time with a 6-2, 6-0 win over DU's Ally Miller at No. 5. Freshman Cardinal Jessie Lynn Paul beat Chandler Consonery 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5. Ariana Rodriguez won her match at No. 2 with a 6-0, 6-3 over DU's Alexa Miller to clinch the match. No. 1 singles Elle Stokes won 6-3, 6-3 over Duquesne's Kylie Isaacs. Manuela Velasquez outlasted DU's Spencer Caravaggion 6-5, 6-3 at No. 3 and Cassie Pough pulled out a three-setter at No. 6 to complete the Cards' scoring.

The Cardinals are back in action at 3:30 today when they take on Butler at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
