The University of Louisville women's tennis team won the second half of its double header with a 6-1 win over intrastate rival Morehead State Saturday evening in the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

The Cardinals swept doubles and all but one singles matches for their second win which moves their record in dual matches to 2-0.

"I am happy with the win but, being young, we showed lapses in focus," said UofL head coach Mark Beckham. "They are aware of it now and realize we can't have a loss of focus on the level that we are trying to get to this year. The good thing is the team is talented enough to get there and as they mature a bit I think we have a chance to be a pretty dangerous team."

In doubles, the No. 2 duo of Manuela Velasquez and Ola Mally paired to cruise to a 6-0 win over Maria Orellana and Dominque McLean. At No. 1, Elle Stokes and Ariana Rodriguez won 6-2 over Alex Tachovsky and Andrea LeBlanc to clinch the point.

In singles, Chloe Willetts made fast work of Maria Orellana with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6 and the first singles point. Next came Ariana Rodriguez who beat MSU's Dominique McLean 6-1, 6-2. Morehead got on the board at No. 1 singles when Andrea LeBlanc beat Elle Stokes 6-0, 6-0. But Ola Mally clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Ayaka Terashi of MSU at the No. 2 slot. Cardinal Jessie Lynn Paul beat Alex Tachovsky 7-6 (4), 6-2 at No. 4. The final Cardinal point came from Olivia Boesing's win at No. 5. She boarded a 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 three-set win over Hayley Wild.

The Cards are back in action Sunday morning at 10 a.m. when they take on Duquesne and then Butler at 3 p.m. all in the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
