Senior guard Shoni Schimmel is wrapping up her fourth and final season at Louisville. Schimmel has left her mark in Louisville history the last four seasons, including the Cardinals impressive run in the 2013 NCAA Tournament season.
Schimmel has helped guide the third ranked Cardinals to a 28-2 overall record and a 16-1 conference record this season. She has started every game for the Cardinals this season. She is averaging 17.2 points per game and leads the team in 3-point field goal percent. She became just the second player in school history to score 2,000 career points and currently ranks as the second leading scorer in school history.
She played a key role in the Cardinals' run to the 2013 NCAA Tournament final. She was named the Oklahoma City Regional's Most Outstanding Player after guiding Louisville to its second Final Four appearance. She will probably always be remembered for her shot of Brittney Griner in the Cards' historic win over top-seeded Baylor in the Sweet 16 of the 2013 NCAA Tournament.
