No. 3/4 Louisville Travels to Memphis

The No. 3/4 Louisville women's basketball will travel to Memphis in a second matchup of the season on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU. It can also be heard live on the Cards Radio with Matt Andrews and Adrienne Johnson, carried locally on WKRD 790 AM.
Shoni Schimmel scored 21 points and No. 4 Louisville held off Temple 60-50 on Wednesday night. Asia Taylor had 14 points and 12 rebounds while Antonita Slaughter added 12 points as Louisville swept the season series.
The Cardinals have an overall record of 24-2 and a conference record of 12-1. The team is led in scoring by Schimmel, who averages 17.7 points per game. Hammond ranks second in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 11.5 points and 6.5 boards per game, respectively. Taylor ranks third on the team in scoring with 10.9 points per game. She also leads the team in rebounding with 6.9 boards per game.
Memphis enters the game with an overall record of 11-14 and a conference record of 4-9. The Tigers fell to Cincinnati 65-49 at Fifth Third Arena Wednesday night. Ariel Hearn led the Tigers with 18 points, while Asianna Fuqua-Bey and Pa'Sonna Hope each finished with 11 rebounds.
Hearn leads the Tigers in scoring with 17.4 point per game. Breigha Wilder-Cochran ranks second on the team in scoring with 8.4 points per game. Mooriah Rowser rounds out the top scorers with 8.2 points per game. Fuqua-Bey leads the team on the boards with 7.5 rebounds per game.
Memphis holds a slight 22-23 edge over the Cardinals in the series. In the last meeting on Jan. 26, Louisville defeated Memphis 88-61 in the KFC Yum! Center.
