LOUISVILLE SOFTBALL SUMMER CAMPS 2013
Age 7-12yrs
June 11-13th All Skills Camp
The youth skills camp features offensive and defensive fundamentals. With a low coach to player ratio each player will receive a lot of attention, and it is our goal to build confidence by creating an enjoyable learning environment.
All Skills Camp Features:
Offensive and defensive fundamentals
Position play (Pitching, catching, infield, outfield)
Competitive offensive and defensive camp games
Fast paced competitions to build self confidence
June 17th Pitching Camp 9:00am-12:00pm
The youth pitching camp will be led by pitching coach Courtney Scott and assisted by current and former Cardinal pitchers. The pitching camp will focus on proper pitching mechanics and basic fundamentals of pitching to be most successful.
Pitching Camp Features:
Fundamentals of pitching
Drills to be successful
Pregame preparation and game strategy
The pitcher/catcher relationship
Drills to work on at home
June 17th Catching Camp
9:00am-12:00pm
The youth catching camp will be led by Associate Head Coach Carol Bruggeman and current and former Cardinal catchers. The catching camp will focus on proper catching mechanics and basic fundamentals of catching to be most successful. Catching Camp Features:
Fundamentals of catching
Proper stance, blocking, throwing and plate coverage
Pregame preparation and game strategy
The pitcher/catcher relationship
Drills to work on at home
June 17th Hitting Camp
1:00pm-4:00pm
The youth hitting camp will be led by Head Coach Sandy Pearsall and assisted by current and former Cardinal big hitters. The hitting camp will focus on proper hitting mechanics and basic fundamental of the swing to be most successful.
Hitting Camp Features:
Proper stance and balance
Numerous drills to improve your swing
Develop the ability to hit the ball with power
Bunting and Slapping
Drills to work on at home
June 18-20th All Skills Camp

Ages 13-17 yrs
June 24th Advanced Pitching Camp (held at Trager Fieldhouse)
The advanced pitching camp will be led by pitching coach Courtney Scott and assisted by current and former Cardinal pitchers. The pitching camp will focus on proper pitching mechanics and basic fundamentals of pitching to be most successful. Pitching Camp Features:
Fundamentals of pitching to increase speed
All pitches will be taught (curve, screw, rise, drop and off speed)
Pregame preparation and game strategy
The pitcher/catcher relationship
Drills to work on at home
June 24th Catching Camp (held at Trager Fieldhouse)
The advanced catching camp will be led by Associate Head Coach Carol Bruggeman and current and former Cardinal catchers. The catching camp will focus on proper catching mechanics and basic fundamentals of catching to be most successful. Catching Camp Features:
Fundamentals of catching
Proper stance, blocking, throwing and plate coverage
Steal throws, framing pitches and bunt coverage
The pitcher/catcher relationship

June 24th Hitting Camp (held at Trager Fieldhouse)
The advanced hitting camp will be led by Head Coach Sandy Pearsall and assisted by current and former Cardinal big hitters. The hitting camp will focus on proper hitting mechanics and basic fundamentals of the swing to be most successful.

Game preparation and how to make adjustments in the game
June 25-26th Advanced Skills Camp
The advanced skills camp features offensive and defensive fundamentals. Campers will focus on a specific position(s) during camp. With a low player to coach ratio, each player will be challenged in a fast paced training environment. Competitive games and skill competitions will be played throughout camp.
Day 1 will start at 9:00am and end at 8:00pm (Lunch and Dinner will be provided)
Day 2 will start at 9:00am and end at 5:00pm (Lunch will be provided)

Learn how to prepare physically and mentally to be your best
Camp location: Due to the renovation and expansion of Ulmer Stadium all camps will be held at Manual High School - with the exception of June 24th camp which will be held at Trager Fieldhouse).

June 11-13th All Skills Camp- $120
June 17th Pitching Camp- $70
June 17th Catching Camp- $70
June 17th Hitting Camp- $70
June 18-20th All Skills Camp- $120
June 24th Advanced Pitching Camp- $70
June 24th Advanced Catching Camp- $70
June 24th Advanced Hitting Camp- $70
June 25-26th Advanced Skills Camp- $275
Late fee: $20 late fee after June 10th
