The University of Louisville women's tennis team defeated Wisconsin 7-0 Saturday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

"This is a great way to bounce back after a very disappointing loss on Thursday," said U of L head coach Mark Beckham. "Getting Manuela (Velasquez) back was a big boost for us. We are obviously a very different team with her in the lineup. We beat a nationally ranked Big Ten team 7-0, which shows quite a bit of character after a tough loss."

The Cards (8-2) swept the doubles to take the first point of the match. At the top seed, Julia Fellerhoff and Rebecca Shine defeating Lauren Chypyha and Lauren Burich 8-2. Mandy Brown and Stefanie Villajuan won at No. 2, 8-4, while Manuela Vasquez and Rebecca Bodine completed the sweep winning 8-5 at No. 3.

Louisville swept all six singles in straight sets. Fellerhoff defeated Chypyha 7-6 (4), 6-3 at No. 1. Shine cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 over Hoch at the two-spot. On court three, Velasquez defeated Burich 6-2, 6-3. Brown outlasted Tripolskaya 6-2, 7-6 (4) at No. 4. Villajuan topped Rabot 6-2, 6-2 at the five-spot while Bodine registered 6-0, 6-1 victory over Wohlstrom at No. 6.
