Cardinals Finish Third at Hoosier Fall Invitational

The Louisville women's golf team shot a 290 in the second round and a 294 in the third round to finish third at the Hoosier Fall Invitational on Sunday at the Hickory Stick Golf Club. The Cardinals moved up five spots in the final two rounds to finish with a score of 887.
The Louisville B team finished 12th with a score of 913. UC Davis won the tournament with a score of 868, shooting a 288 in the second round and a 284 in the third round. Illinois finished second with a score of 884.
Sophomore Laura Restrepo led the Cardinals finishing tied for sixth. Restrepo shot a 73 in the second round and a 71 in the final round for a score of 217. Betty Chen of UC Davis took medalist honors with a score of 210. Minnesota's Carmen Laguna finished second with a score of 212.
Junior Katie Petrino finished the tournament tied at 14th with a score of 221. Petrino shot a 72 in both the second and third round. Freshman Louise Oxner finished tied at 25th with a score of 225. Oxner shot a 75 in the second round and a 73 in the third round.
Junior Emily Haas finished tied at 30th with a score of 226. Haas shot a 72 in the second round and a 78 in the third round. Junior Sara Karlsson led the B team with a score of 227. Karlsson finished tied at 34th with a score of 227, shooting a 75 in both the second and third rounds.
Freshman Shannon Gramley finished tied for 36th with a score of 228. Gramley finished second on the B team after carding a 73 in the second round and a 77 in the third round. Senior Tara Lyons rounded out the A team, finishing tied at 40th with a score of 229. Lyons shot a 73 in the second round and a 79 in the third round.
Sophomore Meghan Theiss finished tied for 42nd with a score of 230. Theiss shot a 74 in the second round and a 75 in the third round. Freshman Emily Kurey finished tied for 51st with a score of 232. Kurey shot a 77 in the second round and a 74 in the third round. Rounding out the B team, junior Haley Andreas finished tied for 62nd with a score of 234. Andreas shot a 75 in the second round and an 80 in the third round.
The Cardinals will wrap up the fall season at the Alamo Invitational on Oct. 27.
