
Women's Basketball Travels to DePaul

Louisville, Ky. - The No. 10/11 Louisville women's basketball team will begin conference action on Saturday, Jan. 5 at DePaul with tipoff at 6:00 p.m. EST. The game will be televised by the BIG EAST Network and can be seen locally on WHAS-TV the game will also be broadcast live on ESPN3.
The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 12-2. The Cardinals are coming off an 88-25 win over Tennessee State on Dec. 31. The Cardinals finished the game with five players in double figures. Sophomore Sara Hammond led all players with 16 points. Overall, Hammond leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 12.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Shoni Schimmel is second on the team in scoring with 11.4 points while leading the team in assists with 4.0 per contest.
DePaul enters the game with an overall record of 11-3, with all three losses at the hands of a Top 25 team. DePaul defeated Oral Roberts 97-74 in their final nonconference game on Dec. 28. Anna Martin led the way with 19 points along with five assists and three steals. Martin leads three Blue Demons in double-figures with 16.2 points per game. Jasmine Penny ranks second on the team with 15.2 points and Brittany Hrynko rounds out the double figure scorers with 13.9 per game.
