
Antonita Slaughter Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville junior Antonita Slaughter was name BIG EAST Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 28. It is the first BIG EAST weekly honor for Slaughter.
The Louisville native averaged 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game last week in the Cards' two wins. Slaughter led the team in scoring with 14 points against Marquette. She also pulled down seven rebounds and dished out four assists. She connected on 4 of 8 from behind the arc, finishing the game at 5 of 9.
Against St. John's, Slaughter scored a season-high 22 points and pulled down five rebounds. She connected on a career-high 10 of 11 from the foul line, while shooting 50 percent from the field. Slaughter finished the week connecting on 52.4 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from behind the arc. She also hit 90.9 percent from the foul line.
