
Women's Basketball Travels to Pittsburgh on Tuesday

Louisville women's basketball (18-7, 7-5) will travel to Pittsburgh (8-16, 0-11) for a BIG EAST conference match up on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Petersen Events Center. Tuesday's contest will air on the U of L Radio Network (790 AM) with Matt Andrews and Adrienne Johnson announcing.
The Cardinals are coming off an 89-62 win over Syracuse on Saturday afternoon at home. The Cardinals set a new school record knocking down 18 of 31 from long range. The Cardinals are led by the backcourt duo of senior Becky Burke and sophomore Shoni Schimmel. Schimmel leads the team in scoring and assists with 14.2 points and 4.5 assists per game. Burke is second in scoring with 11.4 points per game. Freshman guard Bria Smith rounds out the top scorers with 9.7 points per game. Redshirt freshman Shawnta' Dyer leads the team on the boards with 4.5 rebounds per game.
Pittsburgh is coming off a 62-57 loss at Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon. Freshman forward Brianna Kiesel leads the Panthers in scoring with 12.8 points per game. Kiesel leads the team with 89 foul shots, connecting on 74.2 percent from the line. Redshirt sophomore Ashlee Anderson ranks second on the team in scoring with 10.8 points per game while ranking third on the team in rebounding with 5.3 per game. Sophomore Leeza Burdgess leads the team on the boards with 6.9 rebounds per game while ranking fourth on the team in scoring with 6.2 points per game.
Louisville leads the series 6-2 against the Panthers. Louisville owns a 1-2 record against the Panthers on the road.
