
No. 14/13 Cardinals Host Wagner College on Friday Night

Louisville, Ky. - The No. 14/13 Louisville women's basketball team will host Wagner College on Friday, Dec. 21 in the KFC Yum! Center at 7:00 p.m. The game is the final game before the Cards take a break over the Christmas holiday and return home to wrap up non conference action on Dec. 31.
The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 10-2. The Cardinals are coming off a 75-39 win over Washington State on Tuesday night. The Cardinals finished the game with four players in double figures. Sophomore Sara Hammond led the way with a game-high 18 points, sophomore Bria Smith added 13 points, junior Shoni Schimmel finished with 12, and sophomore Jude Schimmel recorded 10. Overall, Hammond leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 11.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Shoni Schimmel is second on the team in scoring with 11.4 points while leading the team in assists with 4.0 per contest.
Wagner enters the game with an overall record of 1-7. The Seahawaks are looking to get back on the right track following a 77-54 loss at the hands of New Hampshire in the Granite State on Monday night. Wagner is led by sophomore Stephanie Blais, who averages 11.9 ppg through the team's first eight games. Marie-Laurence Archambault is second on the team at 9.5 ppg, while Veronick Fournier is averaging 7.3 to go along with a team-leading 5.3 rpg. Sophomore Ugo Nwaigwe is second on the boards with 5.1 rpg. Thompson leads the Seahawks with 4.4 apg.
The game will be the first meeting between the two teams.
