LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Athletes are used to press conferences and being interviewed about their performance as a Cardinal, but after their athletic careers are over, are they prepared for some of the most important interviews of their lives? Starting a career means being interviewed for a position and U of L athletes will get practice and feedback from a new program designed to do exactly that.
Media representatives are invited to attend the University of Louisville's "Sweats to Suits" mock interview and networking event hosted by the Cardinal Athletic Career Center today at the PNC Club at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The event runs from 5-7 p.m. and is open to all current and former UofL student-athletes.
"Sweats to Suits" is a career preparation program created by Lynne Barney M. Ed., Director of Athletic Career Services. The program is a full scope initiative to prepare current student-athletes for life after college athletics. The mock interview and networking event is one component of the program. The program also includes career mapping, annual career progression visits, resumé preparation, internship and job shadow placement, and career preparation.
Mock interviews will be conducted by local business professionals. Interviewers will interview one or two interviewees and offer verbal feedback and a written critique.
