
Track and Field Completes Penn Relays

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville track and field teams completed competition at the 117th Penn Relay Carnival at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa., on Saturday, as Neil Angermeier and Michael Edwards competed in the high jump championship.
Angermeier finished in eighth place in the event after clearing a season-best 2.12m/6-11.5. He nearly matched his career-best mark of 2.14m/7-0.25. Edwards tied for 10th in the event after leaping over 2.08m/6-9.75, just half-of-an-inch below his season-best jump of 2.09m/6-10.25.
On April 29, Kyle Gann (men's pole vault) and Rachel Gehret (women's high jump championship) competed at Franklin Field in their respective events.
Gann, a senior, vaulted over 4.80m/15-9 to place third, while Gehret bettered her season high by jumping over the bar 1.79m/5-10.5 to take second.
Up next for the Cardinals are the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships, which begin on Friday, May 6. The three-day event takes place in Philadelphia, Pa., at Jumbo Elliott Track on the campus of Villanova University.
