
Women's Tennis Falls to VCU

The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 6-1 to VCU in a neutral site match on the campus of Marshall University.
The doubles pair of Julia Fellerhoff and Rebecca Shine beat the sister duo of Yergina and Alex Barra 9-7 at No.1 doubles to set the tone. The Cardinals dropped No. 2 doubles match and then VCU's sophomore Josefin Hjertquist and junior Ana Bara fought their way to a 9-8 (8-6) doubles victory over Stefanie Villajuan and Amelia Harris at the second spot and cliched the point for the Rams.
Louisville picked up a point with a win at second singles with a 7-5, 6-2 win for Rebecca Shine. Yergina Bara wore down Julia Fellerhoff with 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 singles victory at the top singles position.
Kaysara Mandry fell 6-2, 6-1 to Alex Bara at No. 3 and Amelia Harris lost 6-2, 6-2 to Ana Bara.
The bottom of the lineup did not fare well for the Cardinals as Gabrielle Duncan fell to Daria Yakavleva 6-4, 6-0 at No. 5 and Sonia Bokhari fell to VCU's Olga Terteac 7-5, 6-2 at No. 6.
