
Track and Field Teams Travel to Penn Relays

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville track and field teams will travel to the prestigious 117th edition of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., competing from Thursday, April 28, until Saturday, April 30, at Franklin Field. The event will serve as preparation for the upcoming BIG EAST Outdoor Championships.

Louisville opens competition on Thursday at 10 a.m., with the women's high jump. Megan Schubert and Maggie Gilbertson are slated to compete in the event. At the same time, Andrea Sabbatine and Chelsea Lucas will participate in the women's pole vault.
Later in the day, BIG EAST Female Field Athlete of the Week, Rachel Gehret, will take part in the long jump championship at noon. The Altoona, Pa., native also is scheduled to compete in the high jump championship, occurring Friday at 1:45 p.m.
Kim Cardeiro and Margret Harris close the day with the women's long jump at 4 p.m. Both already have qualified for the league's outdoor championships.
On day two of competition, Kyle Gann and Kevin Jackson will participate in the pole vault at 10 a.m. At 3:30 p.m., Wesley Smith is scheduled to compete in the long jump.
Michael Edwards and Neil Angermeier wrap up competition on Saturday, the final day of the Penn Relays, in the high jump at 1:30 p.m.
