Women's Tennis Beats Loyola Marymount

The University of Louisville women's tennis team beat Loyola Marymount by winning the doubles point and four of six singles matches for the 5-2 win Saturday in Los Angeles, Calif.
The Cardinals actually dropped the first doubles match, but then Julia Fellerhoff and Rebecca Shine paired to win No. 1 doubles with an 8-4 win over Miya Jin and Ashley Anderson. Amelia Harris and Stefanie Villajuan clinched the doubles point with an 8-6 win over April Bisharat and Melissa Valenzuela.
In singles, Julia Fellerhoff struck first with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Melissa Valenzuela. Gabrielle Duncan added the third point for the Cardinals with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Ashley Anderson. The match was clinched by Becca Shine who pulled out a 7-6, 6-3 win over Miya Jin. Kaysara Mandry added a bonus point by grinding out a three set 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over Shauna Morgan.
The Cardinals are back in action March 25 against Austin Peay at 2 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
