COLLEGE STATION, Texas - University of Louisville track and field's D'Ana McCarty collected her third career indoor All-America honor, with a third-place finish in the weight throw on the first day of competition at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday in College Station, Texas, at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium.
McCarty opened the competition with a throw of 22.02m/72-3, putting her in second place through the preliminaries. In the finals, the senior bettered her mark with a toss of 22.28m/73-1.25 on her first attempt. Despite not registering a better throw, McCarty finished in third to earn first team U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-America honors.
