
Women's Basketball Travels to Washington State

Pullman, Wash. - The 13th ranked Louisville women's basketball team will face Washington State on Monday, Dec. 19 at 9:00 p.m. EST. The game wraps up a two game road stint on the West Coast before the Christmas break.
The Cardinals are 10-2 on the season after defeating Portland 71-42 on Saturday afternoon. Four Cardinals are averaging double figures with sophomore Shoni Schimmel leading the team with 13.8 points per game while leading the team with 4.5 assists per game. Monique Reid ranks second on the team with 13.1 points per game. Senior Becky Burke is third with 12.3 points per game while freshman Bria Smith is averaging 10.8 points per game. Reid and Cierra Warren leads the team on the boards with 5.3 rebounds per game.
Washington State enters the game with an overall record of 6-4. The Cougars most recently defeated UC Riverside 74-35. The Cougars are 2-1 at home this season, with the only loss a 71-69 defeat by Gonzaga. Four players averaging eight or more points a game for Washington State. Sophomore guard Ireti Amojo leads the team in scoring with 9.0 points per game. Junior center Carly Noyes ranks second on the team in scoring with 8.2 points per game. Tia Presley ranks third with 8.1 points and Sage Romberg is fourth with 8.0 points per game. Jazmine Perkins leads the team on the boards with 6.5 rebounds per game.
The game is the first meeting between the two teams.
