TEAM
- Louisville improves to 38-24 in the all-time series with Cincinnati, UofL's most common opponent. The Cards have taken nine of the 10 meetings since the 2006-07 season and 12 of 14 since the '02-'03 campaign.
- The Cards won their fifth straight game on Cincinnati's home court, tying for the second-longest road win streak against any opponent in school history. The only longer stretch for UofL came against South Florida, whom the Cardinals defeated nine straight times in Tampa from Feb. 8, 1992-Jan. 26, 2003.

- In the process, UofL dealt UC its first home loss of the season. The Bearcats had been victorious in home contests with IPFW (74-42), Dayton (75-64), Evansville (64-34), and Morgan State (64-60) previously.
- Louisville held UC to less than 60 points for the eighth time in the last nine matchups.
- The five-point win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Cardinals in games decided by five points or fewer. Louisville had not won on the road in a game with a margin of five or less since the 2009-10 opener, a 65-63 triumph over Dayton.
- In the Cincinnati series, however, UofL has ruled in close games; the Cards have won the last six meetings decided by five or less between the squads, last losing on Jan. 23, 1989 (48-46). The last such "close" game between the schools came five years ago to the day, a 67-62 Cardinal win on Dec. 14, 2006.

- Louisville moves to 9-2 on the season, the fifth time in seven years the Cards have had at least nine wins through 11 games.
- The Cards are now 5-2 (.714) on the road this season, losing only to a pair of top-10 squads (#6/6 Texas A&M on Nov. 15 and #12/10 Kentucky on Dec. 4). If the season ended today, that away winning percentage would be the second-best in school history, trailing only the 12-2 (.857) mark put together by the 2008-09 national runner-up team.
- UofL won its conference opener for the fourth consecutive season. Three of those four wins have come against Cincinnati.
- Louisville is 18-13 in conference lidlifters since joining the Metro Conference for the 1981-82 season, including an 8-2 record when that first league foe is the Bearcats.
- UC missed its first seven 3-point tries of the game, extending the 3-point drought for Louisville's opponents to 17 straight misses dating back to the second half of the Dec. 4 game at Kentucky. Bearcat guard Kayla Cook would end the streak with a triple at the 1:58 mark of the first half, one of four for her in the contest.
- The Cards did not start much better in long-range shooting on the night, as the squads combined to miss their first 14 3-point attempts before Cook's make. Louisville was 0-for-9 from distance before Schimmel hit a trio of 3s in a span of 3:30 in the second half.
- Louisville forced the Bearcats, 35th in the nation entering the week in fewest turnovers per game (14.9), into a season-high 23 miscues on Wednesday, including TOs on five straight possession during a seven-minute scoreless stretch in the first half.
- Twelve of those turnovers came via UofL steals, Louisville's seventh consecutive game with at least 10 thefts. That streak ties the school record last set by the 2007-08 and '08-'09 teams (last three of '07-'08, first four of '08-'09) and last accomplished within one season by the 1994-95 club.

- UofL's first 14 points on the night came from seven different players.
- The Cards held Bearcats to fewer than 30 first-half points for the eighth consecutive meeting between the two squads in Cincinnati. UC has not scored 30+ points in the first 20 minutes of a home game against the Cards since Jan. 11, 2003, when Cincinnati led 34-15 at the break en route to a 67-48 win.
- Louisville enjoyed another solid night from the charity stripe, making 14 of 19 attempts (.737), including seven straight with under five minutes to go to ice the game. Louisville is shooting 76.7 percent (89-for-116) from the line over the last six games and 79.2 percent (57-for-72) over the past four.
- The Cardinals outscored the Bearcats 22-0 in bench points in the contest.

- With 14 points on Wednesday, senior Becky Burke passed Stephanie Edwards (1,034 points) for 21st on the Cardinal all-time scoring list. Burke (1,040 points) needs eight points to match Tuonisia Turner for 20th place.

- With the game on the line, Burke was as steady from the line as she has been the last two years, hitting all four of her tries with under 30 seconds left to secure the Cardinal victory. Dating back to last season, Burke has made 46 of her last 48 attempts from the line (.958).
- Burke set a season high with seven rebounds in the game.
- Burke did miss all four of her 3-point tries on Wednesday, the second consecutive game she has gone without a made 3-point basket. She has missed 10 straight from behind the arc dating back to the UK game, tying for the longest drought of her four-year career. Burke also missed 10 in a row as a freshman, misfiring on her last attempt at Notre Dame on Feb. 11, 2009, before going a combined 0-for-9 in games against Cincinnati, St. John's, Villanova, and Pittsburgh.
- Sophomore Shoni Schimmel made four 3-pointers (11 attempts) against the Bearcats - all coming in the second half with Louisville tied or trailing - to extend her school-record streak of consecutive games making two or more 3s to 15. She is just one shy of equaling the men's record of 16, set by Taquan Dean in the final 16 games of the 2005-06 season.

- Not only is Schimmel's streak a program record, it's also the longest active streak in Division I women's basketball. Southern Illinois junior guard Teri Oliver has the country's second-longest string, hitting 2+ treys in 14 straight games since Feb. 19 of last season.

- Schimmel (123 career 3s) is now just two treys shy of cracking the Louisville career top 10 for 3-pointers made, with Connie Neal (125 from 2002-06) holding down the 10th spot.
- Schimmel extended her two-steal streak as well, finishing with two. She has at least a pair of thefts in seven straight games and eight of nine this year, averaging 2.8 for the season.
- Freshman Jude Schimmel's turnover at 10:23 of the first half - with the shot clock winding down - was her first since the final minute of the Cards' 105-62 victory over Murray State on Nov. 29. She had dished out eight assists during that turnover-free stretch.
- Schimmel continued her improved shooting of late, making two of her three shots on the night. After beginning her career 2-for-19 (.105) from the field, Jude has hit seven of her 13 shots (.538) over the last five games.
- Freshman Bria Smith collected her fifth straight multi-steal game on Wednesday and ninth in 11 games this season.
- Smith made her first free-throw attempt of the night before missing the second, ending a streak of 11 consecutive makes from the line for the rookie. Her streak came after she misfired on 10 of her first 24 free throw attempts this season (.583 percentage).
- Smith finished the evening with career bests in free throws made and attempted, going 6-for-9. She also stuffed the stat sheet in points (12) and rebounds (six).
- Redshirt sophomore Cierra Warren also put together a two-steal outing, her sixth of the year.
- Rookie Sara Hammond dished out a pair of assists with no turnovers on Wednesday, her third two-assist game in the last four contests. Hammond has six assists and just two turnovers over the past four games after having five assists and 14 turnovers prior to that.
- After a 3-for-4 night from the field against Cincinnati, redshirt freshman Shawnta' Dyer has gone 9-for-13 (.692) from the floor over the past five games. Dyer had connected on just a third (11-of-33) of her shots this season before that.
