- The win for Louisville was its 14th in 18 all-time games with Murray State. UofL has won six straight against the Racers in Louisville (since an 80-72 Murray State victory on Dec. 2, 1978), improving to 9-1 at home versus Murray State.
- The Cardinals have won four straight in the series dating back to Murray State's one-point (62-61) win on Jan. 28, 1982.
- Louisville extended its overall winning streak to six games, its longest since an eight-game streak from Feb. 11-March 9, 2009.
- UofL is off to a 7-1 start or better through eight games for the sixth time in school history, also doing so in the 2008-09 (7-1), 2006-07 (8-0), 1995-96 (7-1), 1994-95 (7-1), and 1984-85 (7-1) campaigns.
- The Cards have won six straight at home, moving to 16-2 in 18 all-time games at the KFC Yum! Center. Louisville has been victorious in nine straight non-conference home games since a 63-50 loss to #4/4 Tennessee in the first regular-season game at the facility.
- Louisville registered the fourth-highest scoring output in school history, scoring 105 points in a game for the first time since a 109-29 rout of Coastal Carolina on Dec. 18, 1996 (UofL's largest win ever).

Louisville has not put up 85+ points in four consecutive outings since setting a school record with four 85-point games in succession from Feb. 14-23, 1991.

- Louisville put together one of the most dominant rebounding performances in school history, outrebounding the Racers by 30 (62-32) in the game. The +30 rebound margin is the fourth-best in school annals and best since the 2008-09 team had a pair of margins greater than 30 (+31 against Illinois State on Nov. 28, +34 against Ball State on Dec. 7).

- Six different Louisville players had 6+ rebounds on the night, while a total of 11 had three or more.
- Opponents have not given up trying to solve the Cardinal defense in the first 20 minutes at the KFC Yum! Center, but it might be a viable option at this point. The Racers managed just 18 points in the first half on Tuesday, lowering the all-time first-half scoring average for opponents at the arena to 22.1, including 19.7 this season. Now six of Louisville's 18 opponents at the Yum! have scored fewer than 20 points in the first half, and no opponent has scored more than 31.
- Louisville's overall scoring defense average at the KFC Yum! Center sits at 54.3.
- UofL's 16-0 run to begin the game matched an arena record for consecutive unanswered points to begin a game. The Cards also jumped out to a 16-0 lead against Southeast Missouri last season in a 97-43 victory (Nov. 19).
- The Cards finished with 13 steals in the contest, their 52nd straight game with at least five thefts. Louisville has had 10 or more steals in seven of its first eight games this season, a first for UofL since the 1987-88 team had nine 10-steal outings over its first 10 contests.
- The Racers took 79 shots in the game, the most for a Louisville opponent since Providence took 80 on Jan. 3, 2007. Murray State's 37 3-point tries were the most for a Cardinal foe since Middle Tennessee took 43 and made 20 in a 94-84 win over UofL on Dec. 9, 2009.
PLAYER
- With a 3-pointer just over a minute into the contest, senior Becky Burke became the 22nd 1,000-point scorer in program history. She finished with 10 points, giving her 1,009 over four years with the Cards.
- Burke teams with Monique Reid (1,430 points) to become just the third pair of UofL players from the same senior class to each record a millennium's worth of points. The last came in 1993, when Nell Knox (1,899) and Kelly Rose (1,101) each ended their careers with 1,000+ tallies.

Edwards was a fifth-year senior, redshirting the '82-'83 season.
- With 18 points on Tuesday, Reid has now scored 18+ points in all four games since returning from injury, averaging 20.3 points per game and going 31-of-43 (.721) from the floor and 19-of-23 (.826) from the line over that span.
- Sophomore Shoni Schimmel tied a career mark with nine rebounds in the game. She also hit 4-of-6 3s, giving her 10 makes in her last 16 3-point attempts (.625) dating back to the Florida State game.
- Schimmel has made at least two 3s in each of the last 12 games in which she has played, a new school record for consecutive games making multiple 3-pointers. She eclipses the previous record of 11, jointly held by Jill Morton and Marju Sober.
