Postgame Notes
- The Cardinals have now won 25 straight exhibition contests dating back to an 87-86 double-overtime loss to the Global Sports All-Stars on Dec. 2, 2000. Louisville has not lost an exhibition game in regulation since the Athletes in Action dropped the Cards 74-62 on Dec. 9, 1996, in Freedom Hall.
- Bellarmine is coached by former U of L assistant coach Scott Davenport, who guided the Knights to the NCAA Division II National Championship and an overall 33-2 record. Davenport spent nine seasons on Rick Pitino's staff, including the last four as his administrative assistant.
- Sophomore Gorgui Dieng blocked a game-high four shots in the 62-54 win over Bellarmine, and has swatted 10 shots in the first two exhibition contests.
- Freshman Chane Behanan tied the team high in scoring with 14 points and also tied for the team lead with nine rebounds. After scoring 16 points in the first exhibition contest versus Pikeville, Behanan is averaging 15.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in the first two preseason contests.
- After missing all of last season with an injury and scoring just two points in the first exhibition game, junior Jared Swopshire responded with 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor. He also responded with nine rebounds.
- Sophomore Russ Smith came off the bench and scored 13 points and three steals in the win over Bellarmine tonight. Smith connected on 6-of-13 shots from the field.
- The Cardinals out-rebounded the Knights 40-24, including 11 offensive rebounds. Freshman Chane Behanan recorded a game-high five offensive rebounds.
