Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville Athletic Department announced five ticket promotions for the women's basketball home schedule this season. The promotion packages tip off with the season opener against Xavier on Sunday, Nov. 20 with the NCAA's "Pack the House" Challenge. Special ticket prices also include the Cardinal Combo, the annual Pink Game, Hats and Hoops, and the National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
For the fourth-straight season, Louisville will take part in the NCAA's "Pack the House" initiative. In a rematch of last season's NCAA second round game against Xavier, the "Pack the House" game will be on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. in the KFC Yum! Center. All fans are encouraged to wear red to the game as the Cardinals team up with the American Heart Association to raise awareness of heart disease. In addition, fans can use their Kroger Plus Cards to receive $2 tickets by showing their card at the ticket windows on the day of the game.
With both basketball programs ranked in the Top 10, fans will want to take advantage of special Cardinal Combo doubleheader days. The Cardinal Combo package includes one reserved ticket to the women's basketball game and one reserved ticket to the men's basketball game on the same day. Best of all, the Cardinal Combo is only $30, a savings of nearly 32 percent off the single-game ticket price. Dates for the "Cardinal Combo" promotions are Nov. 22 (Women vs. Austin Peay; Men vs. Arkansas State), Dec. 10 (Women vs. Gardner-Webb; Men vs. Fairleigh Dickinson) and Dec. 28 (Women vs. UT Martin; Men vs. Georgetown).
Once again this season, Louisville will join in raising awareness for Breast Cancer by hosting the fifth annual Pink Game on Jan. 18 vs. Providence. Breast Cancer survivors will receive two free tickets to the game as well the opportunity to participate in halftime festivities.
The Cardinals and Lids have partnered for a special "Hats and Hoops" promotion. Fans who purchase any hat from a Louisville area Lids store will receive a voucher for two free tickets to one of Louisville's marquee conference matchups. Fans can redeem their voucher for either the Feb. 7 game against the defending conference champion, Connecticut, or the Feb. 20 contest against the defending NCAA National Runner-up, Notre Dame.
On Feb. 25, Louisville celebrates "National Girls and Women in Sports Day." Girls between the ages of 6-12 can participate in pregame festivities, including meeting Cardinal student-athletes, taking pictures in the photo booth, and making posters to support the team. Youth basketball teams that register prior to the day of the game will receive free tickets.
Prices for single game tickets this season are as follows: $5 for general admission youth and $8 general admission adult. Season tickets remain available, including the Cardinal Combo (three men's and women's games) for $30 a person per ticket.
Last season the Cardinals ranked second nationally in attendance with 10,859 fans per game. It is the fourth-straight season the Cardinals have been in the Top-12 in national attendance.
All ticket promotions will be available for purchase on Friday, Nov. 18 through the Louisville Athletics Ticket Office (502-851-5151, www.uoflsports.com).
