
No. 19 Field Hockey Travels to No. 20 Ohio State

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The No. 19 University of Louisville field hockey team will take a break from BIG EAST Conference play with a midweek matchup at No. 20 Ohio State Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m.
Tuesday's game will mark the fifth straight top-20 opponent for the Cards who are coming off of a 4-2 loss to No. 4 Connecticut. Louisville (7-4) is led offensively by senior Hayley Turner who has seven goals, six assists and 20 points on the season. Sophomore Elizabeth Vance stands at second on the team with four goals and 12 points. Junior Erin Conrad carries a 1.51 goals-against average with four shutouts on the season.

Note: Six of the last eight games between the teams have been decided in overtime.
Last Meeting: Sept. 8, 2010 - The Buckeyes won 4-3 in two overtimes at Trager Stadium.
Scouting the Buckeyes: Ohio State (7-5) is currently on a five-game winning streak dating back to the Sept. 16 overtime win over Wake Forest. The Buckeyes are 2-0 in Big Ten play, having beaten No. 11 Michigan 2-1 and most recently picking up a 3-2 win over No. 13 Indiana.
Danica Deckard and Berta Queralt leads the team with eight goals and two assists for 18 points apiece. Ally Tunitis (7-5) carries a 1.63 goals-against average with two shutouts on the season.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, Louisville will return to Trager Stadium for the "Pink Game" against BIG EAST foe Rutgers at noon. Fans are encouraged to wear pink as the Cards do their part to promote breast cancer awareness and research. Pink balloons and other merchandise will be sold with all proceeds going to the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
