LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville field hockey team will wrap up 2011 regular season at No. 20 Northwestern on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. (Eastern).
About Louisville: The Cards (10-7, 3-3 BIG EAST) are led offensively by senior Hayley Turner who has 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points on the season. Sophomore Elizabeth Vance stands at second on the team with six goals and 16 points. Currently BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week junior Erin Conrad carries a 1.45 goals-against average with six shutouts on the season.

Series Record: Louisville leads 4-0
Last Meeting: Oct. 26, 2008, UL won 4-3 in overtime. Nicole Youman scored the game-winner in overtime to give the host Cardinals a 4-3 victory. Tuli Lim chipped in a pair of goals and Hayley Turner also scored. Courtney Plaster scored twice for Northwestern.
Scouting the Wildcats: Northwestern brings an 11-7 (1-4 Big Ten) record into the weekend prior to a matchup against Big Ten opponent Ohio State on Friday. Chelsea Armstrong leads the team with 24 goals and 55 points on the season while Regan Mooney has a team-best 19 assists and 25 points. The Wildcats are coming off of a 5-2 loss to No. 13 Iowa on Saturday.
2011 BIG EAST Conference Championship Breakdown
All four spots to the BIG EAST Championship have been clinched. With a victory over Syracuse in the regular-season, Connecticut grabbed the No. 1 seed. Louisville has secured the No. 4 seed while Syracuse and Villanova will face off in their last regular-season conference game on Oct. 28 to determine the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds.
Cards Honor 2011 Seniors
On Sunday, Louisville honored the three seniors who were playing their final regular season game at Trager Stadium. Caitlin Collins, Heather Stevens, Hayley Turner and Erin Conrad, Erin elected to use a redshirt in 2008 and will compete next season as a senior. Today, we say good-bye to Caitlin, Heather and Hayley in their last regular season home game.
As a class, they have won 49 games, and a BIG EAST conference championship. They also helped the Cards become a mainstay among the nation's top 20 throughout their careers.
The Deal with the Cards
Senior Hayley Turner leads the team with 10 goals and eight assists for 28 points on the season.
The Cards entered the 2011 season at No. 16 in the NFHCA preseason coaches' poll. This marks the ninth straight year that Louisville has appeared in the nation's top 20.
Last time Out
Louisville snapped a two-game losing streak with a pair of shutout wins in its final home weekend, defeating Providence 6-0 and No. 19 Indiana 1-0 at Trager Stadium.
Up Next
The Cards have earned a No. 4 seed in the BIG EAST Conference Championship and will face top-seeded and fourth-ranked Connecticut in the semifinals on Nov. 4 at 12:30 p.m.
Fifth-ranked host Syracuse and Villanova will face off in the other semifinal. The winners will compete in the championship game, Sunday at 1 p.m.
Conrad Tabbed BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week; Turner Named to Honor Roll
Goalkeeper Erin Conrad was tabbed BIG EAST Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 23. This is Conrad's second league honor of the season. Senior Hayley Turner was selected to the BIG EAST honor roll.
Conrad posted a combined six saves in two shutout wins on the week. She collected three saves in a 6-0 win over Providence on Oct. 21 as the Cardinals secured a spot in the BIG EAST Championship. Conrad followed with three stops in her second-straight, sixth overall shutout in a 1-0 victory over No. 19 Indiana on Oct. 23. Her six shutouts on the season, tie her for sixth on the school's single season list. She also has 11 career shutouts, placing her fifth on Louisville's all-time list.
Turner scored a pair of goals and added an assist in Louisville's 6-0 win over Providence. Turner's goal put the Cards on the scoreboard and proved to be the game-winner as the Cards clinched a spot in the BIG EAST Conference Championship. She now leads the team with 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points. She is currently ranked in the top five of Louisville career lists for goals (38), assists (32) and points (108).
Louisville in BIG EAST Conference Championship
The Cards will be making their seventh straight BIG EAST Championship appearance, have reached the semifinals every season since joining the league in 2005. For the sixth time in seven appearance, the Cards will face UConn. The Huskies hold a 5-0 advantage over Louisville in the conference tournament. Providence defeated the Cards 2-0 in 2007 - the only non-UConn matchup.
Turner Passes the Century Mark
Hayley Turner dished out an assist in the 4-2 loss to No. 4 Connecticut to give her 100 career points. She becomes the fifth player in program history to reach that mark. Turner is in fifth place on the school's list for career points with 108. Jessica Javelet holds the record with 189 points.
The Rest of the Turner Report
Senior Hayley Turner now leads the team with eight goals, seven assists and 23 points on the season.
She is in sole possession of fifth place on the career goals list (35) and needs three more to tie Sherry Effinger's mark of 38. Jessica Javelet holds the record at 69.
Turner is tied for fourth in career assists (31). Turner also tied a school record when she dished out three assists in the 6-0 win over Appalachian State on Sept. 11. Nicole Youman owns the record with 52.
Fountain of Youth
Louisville features a young lineup with five freshmen and one sophomore among its starters. Twelve players - including nine underclassmen - have combined to score Louisville's 46 goals this season. Senior Hayley Turner leads the team with 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points on the season.
