
Women's Basketball Travels to No. 2 Connecticut

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team travels to Hartford, Conn. to face No. 2 Connecticut on Saturday, Jan. 15 at Noon in the SL Center. The game is the second straight road game for Louisville against a ranked opponent.
Louisville enters the game with an overall record of 12-6 and a 3-1 BIG EAST record. Junior Monique Reid leads the team in scoring averaging 16.9 points per game. Freshman Shoni Schimmel is second in scoring at 16.1 points per game, while also leading the team in assists with 5.8 per game. Senior Keshia Hines is tops on the glass with 6.6 rebounds per game.
Connecticut enters the game with an overall record of 15-1 and a BIG EAST record of 5-0. The Huskies are coming off an 84-52 win over St. John's on Wednesday. Senior Maya Moore leads the team in scoring averaging 23.8 points per game, while also leading the team in rebounding and assists with 7.6 and 4.1 respectively. Senior Tiffany Hayes is second in scoring with 15.9 per game, while freshman Bria Hartley rounds out the top three scorers with 13.2 per game.
The game will be broadcast on WKRD and www.UofLSports.com. Jim Kelch will call the action while Paul Sanderford adds the color commentary. The game will also be aired on Connecticut Public Television (CPTV).
