
Women's Basketball Travels to No. 12 Notre Dame

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team travels to South Bend to face No. 12 Notre Dame on Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 7:00 p.m. in Purcell Pavilion. The Cardinal are coming off their fourth straight win with a 79-68 victory of Pittsburgh on Sunday.
Louisville enters the game with an overall record of 12-5 and a 3-0 BIG EAST record. Junior Monique Reid leads the team in scoring averaging 17.3 points per game. Freshman Shoni Schimmel is second in scoring at 16.4 points per game, while also leading the team in assists with 6.0 per game. Senior Keshia Hines is tops on the glass with 6.5 rebounds per game.
Notre Dame enters the game with an overall record of 13-4 and a BIG EAST record of 2-1. The Fighting Irish are coming off a 79-76 loss to second-ranked Connecticut on Saturday. Junior Natalie Novosel leads the team in scoring averaging 15.1 points per game, while sophomore Skylar Diggins is second with 13.4 per game. Devereaux Peters rounds out the top three scorers averaging 10.7 points and a team leading 6.5 rebounds per game.
Notre Dame leads the overall series 5-4 against the Cardinals.
