
Track and Field Concludes Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The nationally ranked University of Louisville men's track and field teams nabbed a pair of top-five finishes on the final day of the Penn Relays at historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia on Saturday.
Redshirt senior Michael Johnson, Jr. led the way for the Cardinals as he finished third overall in the triple jump college competition with a leap of 49-08.50 (15.15m) on his sixth and final attempt. It was his best jump of the season in the event and currently ranks 28th in the East Region. The top 48 from each region will advance to the national semifinal.
In the high jump championships competition, redshirt senior Tone Belt placed fifth as he cleared 6-09.75 (2.08m). Belt's previous best this season stands as the 17th best in the nation and ranks eighth in the East Region.
Louisville will now head to the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships on April 30-May 2 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
