
Women's Tennis Beats South Alabama

The University of Louisville women's tennis team upended South Alabama 6-1 by winning the doubles point and five of the six singles matches in Blacksburg, Va. on Saturday.
U of L swept all three doubles matches, including a 9-8 (2-7) nailbiter at No. 1 with Mandy Brown and Sarah Miller scrambling for the win. Amelia Harris and Stefanie Villajuan combined to beat Jess Courtnell and Marie Boura 8-3 at No. 2. The short-handed Jaguars did not have enough players to man the No .3 slot and Kaysara Mandry and Louise Noe won by forfeit at No. 3.
In singles, Sarah Miller breezed by Katie Welch 6-0, 6-1 at No. `1 and Mandy Brown held on to win 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2. At No. 3, Amelia Harris took her match against Courtnell 6-1, 6-3. USA's lone win came at No. 4 when Chane Hines defeated Kaysara Mandry in a closely fought match 5-7, 7-6 (7-5), 1-0 (10-8). Gabrielle Duncan and Stefanie Villajuan won their matches by forfeit.
