Rucker and Arslanbekova Named AVCA All-Northeast Region

The University of Louisville volleyball team, which won its third-straight BIG EAST Championship title, placed two players named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Northeast Region team as announced by the organization Dec. 7.
Sophomore Lola Arslanbekova, who was a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team, was also a unanimous selection to the All-Northeast Region squad. Arslanbekova earns an all-region nod for the second-straight season after ranking third in the conference in kills per set with 3.86. Junior middle blocker Gwen Rucker also earned a selection, finishing second in the league in blocks per set with 1.23.
