Louisville Head Coach Rick Pitino
(Opening Statement)
"It was a very disappointing loss. We didn't shoot foul shots well, and we lost the game because we didn't rebound. It's a very simple stat. We got our deflections, we didn't turn it over. We didn't shoot well, which was OK because they didn't shoot well. We got outrebounded 46-26 and that pretty much tells us why we lost."
(On Drexel's defense)
"I think they blocked out terrific. And I think their big guys just rebounded the ball really well and our bigs did not. We didn't get rebounds out of the three-spot. We didn't get rebounds out of the five-spot."
(On Terrence Jennings' early foul trouble)
"He wasn't rebounding all game, so I think it helped us get back in the game, to tell you the truth. He hasn't been rebounding, putting the numbers up I expect."
(On the short turn around)
"They had a short turn around too. They were on the road. They deserved the victory, we didn't. No excuses. We had time to prepare, and we didn't, but neither did they. You have to give them all the credit. We did not play well. We did not rebound well. You don't rebound, you don't get out on the break and you don't do the little things that help you score."
(On having a player to step up)
"We don't have that this year. It's just what it is. We don't have it. We've got to win as a team. The parts are not as good as the whole here. It is what it is. It's just got to be that way. We don't have that player. On any given night, we may have somebody shoot well. We don't have that player."
Drexel Head Coach James Flint
(On how Drexel was able to pull off the win)
"We did a good job at defending and rebounding, which is pretty much what we do, and I think we got the pace of the game the way we wanted it. We didn't let them run up and down, shoot a lot of 3s and let Siva out of the lane. That was one of our big things. We didn't take care of the ball like I want to, but I thought we had a chance."
(On outrebounding Louisville)
"We've been rebounding like that all year. I believe we're second in the country in rebounding. We rebound, that's what we do."
(On the magnitude of the win)
"We thought we matched up really well with them, and we needed to do necessary things to win the game and we did them. It was big for the program. I think it is big for our conference being able to go on the road and get a win. I watched them on Saturday and they played well. For us, you have to come in and feel like you can win those games. We're not going to come in and lay down against them."
(On rebounding)
"We rebound, that's one thing that we do. That's been the staple of this team since the beginning. I think we out-rebounded everybody almost by double-figures. The one thing that we do is rebound, but we miss a lot, so we better rebound it. And we talked about that. I was like `Guys, we can rebound the ball against these guys.' And we did. That is playing to our strengths because that is one thing we do well."
(On having to rebound well while in foul trouble)
"We've been in foul trouble, especially because we play a lot of road games, so you get in foul trouble a little bit."
(On Drexel's defense)
"We've always been a good defensive team. Like I said, we felt like we had good match-ups. On of the things is keeping them off the 3-point line, and I think we did a good job at that. We wanted to chase them off the 3-point line, make them rush and run guys at them. I thought our guys did a good job at that. We kept them to one shot. I think that was important."
