
Field Hockey Travels to Indiana

The tenth-ranked University of Louisville field hockey team will open a three-game road swing with a trip to Indiana on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m.
Team Cardinal (8-3, 2-1 BIG EAST) is led offensively by senior captain Nicole Youman's 35 points (12G, 11A). She also leads the league in goals points and assists. Junior, and current BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week Hayley Turner follows with 15 points (5G, 5A). Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Conrad (8-3) carries a 1.44 goals-against average and has 28 saves and three shutouts on the season.
Following Tuesday's game, the Cardinals will go back on the road to face BIG EAST Conference opponent Rutgers on Oct. 9 and No. 4 Princeton on Oct. 10.

Last Meeting: Sept. 6, 2009 - Alina Valenti scored twice for the Hoosiers and Karah Nall put the Cardinals on the scoreboard as IU won 2-1 at Trager Stadium. Scouting the Hoosiers: Indiana enters the game with a 5-4 overall record and is coming off of a 4-1 loss to No. 7 Ohio State. The Hoosiers are led by Morgan Fleetwood's nine points (3G, 3A). Becky Pany (5-3) carries a 1.19 goals-against average with 44 saves.
Up Last: The Cardinals went 2-0 on the weekend, upsetting No. 5 Connecticut 3-2 in overtime on Saturday and defeating Saint Louis 7-0 on Sunday. In the game against UConn, senior Nikki Auker put the Cards on the scoreboard. The Huskies took a 2-1 lead in the second half but Hayley Turner tied the game with less than two minutes remaining in regulation and went on to score the game-winner in overtime.
Seven different Cardinals scored in Sunday's 7-0 win over Saint Louis.
