
Women's Basketball Hosts No. 3 Notre Dame Tuesday Evening

Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville women's basketball team will host No. 3 Notre Dame on Tuesday, Jan. 19 in Freedom Hall at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on CBS College Sports with Dave Ryan and Debbie Antonelli calling the game. Fans are encouraged to wear red for the American Heart Association Red Out.
The Cardinals are coming off a 60-56 loss at No. 18 Georgetown on Saturday and enter the game with an overall record of 10-7 and 2-2 in the league. The Cardinals are led by the sophomore duo of Becky Burke and Monique Reid. Burke and Reid lead the team in scoring with 15.6 points per game. Burke leads the team from behind the arc, knocking down 41 treys on the year. Reid leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 8.8 boards per game. Junior Keshia Hines has been averaging 14.3 points per game since the Christmas break and is second on the team in rebounding with 7.2 per game.
Notre Dame enters to game with an overall record of 15-1 and a BIG EAST record of 2-1. The Fighting Irish are coming off their first loss of the season, at the hands of top-ranked Connecticut. Freshman Skylar Diggins leads the team in scoring with 13.0 points per game. Senior Ashley Barlow is second on the team in scoring with 11.4 points and Lindsay Scharader adds 11.2 points per game. Schrader leads the team in rebounding with 7.5 boards per game.
Louisville holds a slight 4-3 advantage in the series with the Fighting Irish. The Cardinals defeated Notre Dame 71-66 last season in South Bend. However, in the last meeting in Freedom Hall the Fighting Irish defeated the Cards 82-74.
