- Freshman Peyton Siva, who drilled his first 3-point field goal since hitting one against Louisiana-Lafayette on 12/23/09, buried career-high 2-of-4 trifectas tonight versus Villanova. Siva also scored a career-high 12 points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field. His previous high was nine points in a win over Morgan State on 11/22/09.
- The Cardinals tied a school record for free throws made in a conference game by hitting 39-of-45 from the charity stripe against Villanova tonight. While members of the Metro Conference, the Cardinals made 39 against Virginia Tech on 2/10/86. The 39 charity tosses made by the Cardinals were the most this season since Louisville hit 33-of-41 against Morgan State on 11/22/09.
- Sophomore Samardo Samuels scored 21 points, marking the third time this year that Samuels scored better than 20 points in a game, and the first since tallying a career-high 29 against Louisiana-Lafayette on 12/23/09. From the free throw line, Samuels connected on a perfect 13-for-13 from the charity stripe. His 13 free throws made were the most in his career, besting his previous career-high of 11 that he connected on in wins over Morgan Stare on 11/22/09 and Oral Roberts on 12/16.
- The Cardinals recorded 12 steals, which was the fourth time this year that Louisville recorded double-digits in steals. It was the second-highest total this season (16 vs. USF).
- Louisville blocked six shots in the loss to Villanova tonight, which was the third-highest total this season.
- Louisville shot a season-low 31.7 percent from the field, tying a season-low by hitting just 19 field goal attempts. The Cardinals hit 19-of-59 (32.2 percent) in a loss to Kentucky on 1/2/10.
