WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The nationally ranked University of Louisville men's and women's track and field teams earned six top three finishes at the Mike Poehlein Invitational hosted by Purdue University on Saturday.

The Cardinal women were led by junior Kat Alcorn who placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.28.

"I was pleased with our effort today and it was important that we got this meet in since we missed an opportunity last weekend at the Yellow Jacket Invitational due to weather conditions," said U of L head coach Ron Mann.

Junior Theresa Lewis finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.21, while freshman Shane Mullany-Banks placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.50.

Junior Kelsey Page finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with the third best performance in school history with a time of 11:18.75.

In the jumps events, freshman Megan Schubert finished second in the high jump clearing 5-05 (1.65m) and fellow freshman teammate Kiersten Kirkland took third in the long jump with a leap of 18-10 (5.74m).

On the men's side, sophomore Tony Baffour placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.87. Baffour also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash clocking in at 22.09.

Sophomore Neil Angermeier finished fourth in the high jump clearing 6-06.75 (2.00m).

The Cards will return to action on April 8-11 at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn.
