
Softball Set for Tuesday's Indiana Game

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - No. 15/16 Louisville will complete a 16 game homestand when it plays host to Indiana in a single game Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Ulmer Stadium. During that homestand, which spanned nearly the entire month of March, the Cards went 14-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of No. 17/22 Ohio State.
The Cardinals are batting a healthy .316 as a team and have eight starters hitting over .300 on the the season. Sophomore shortstop Colby Wherry leads the team with a .397 average. Junior catcher Melissa Roth follows at .383. The leadoff hitter also has a team-best 28 runs and eight doubles. Sophomore third baseman Chelsea Bemis rounds out the top three hitters with a .381 average, six home runs and 26 RBI.
Louisville is also getting the job done in the circle with junior Kristen Wadwell and freshman Tori Collins combining for a 1.11 team ERA. Wadwell - the current BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week - has shouldered the majority of the pitching duties, logging 153.2 innings and has already reached her 20th win of the season. She carries a 0.96 ERA and leads the conference with 141 strikeouts.

Scouting the Hoosiers: Indiana (3-21) is coming off of two losses to Big Ten opponent Minnesota. The Hoosiers fell 6-0 an 2-0 in their opening weekend of conference play. Kelli Ritchison leads the team with a .295 batting average and six runs. Brittany Stein has a team best four homers while Sara Olson has three home runs and 11 RBI. Olson also leads in the circle with a 2-5 record, 3.05 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 59.2 innings of work.

Following Tuesday's game, the Cardinals will go on the road for a pair of BIG EAST matchups. Louisville will play a doubleheader at St. John's on Saturday and a twinbill at Seton Hall on Sunday.
