The University of Louisville volleyball team will play its final two matches of the regular season down at the Kentucky International Convention Center. The KICC will also be the site of the 2009 BIG EAST Championship next week.
The Cardinals take on the Red Storm of St. John's this Friday at 7 p.m. at the Kentucky International Convention Center. UConn visits Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. also the KICC. There will be string backpacks given out to the first 125 fans at both contests.
With one weekend left on the 2009 BIG EAST volleyball schedule and just two spots remaining in the eight-team conference tournament, five teams are battling for an opportunity for a league crown. The top eight teams are invited to the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky., for the BIG EAST Volleyball Championship on Nov. 20-22.
Connecticut (7-5) is in seventh place and faces Cincinnati and Louisville on the road this weekend. Villanova, West Virginia and Seton Hall are tied for eighth with 5-7 BIG EAST records and each faces two league opponents in the final weekend of play. Marquette, which is 5-8, is still in tournament contention.
