LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville softball team wrapped up the fall season with an alumnae game Saturday afternoon at Ulmer Stadium.
"We were so happy to see so many former players come back for this game and meet with the team this weekend," said U of L head coach Sandy Pearsall, who started the program in 2000. "It was good to catch up, and see how our Cardinal family has grown. Our current players were able to meet the ones who came before them - and see that they can still play the game."
With 27 players representing each of Louisville's ten seasons in the dugout, the current Cardinals won the game by a score of 7-5. Louisville junior Colby Wherry started the scoring early in the game with a two-run double and a flurry of scoring ensued. The alums were aided by a few extra base runners and current U of L pitcher Kristen Wadwell pitching the final two innings in relief of Aja Sherman, the only active pitcher on the alums' roster.
