
7th Ranked Cardinals Travel to Top-Ranked Connecticut

Storrs, Conn. - The 7th ranked Louisville Cardinals will face top-ranked Connecticut in Gampel Pavillion on Monday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. The game will air live on ESPN2 as part of their Big Monday package.
The Cardinals enter the game ranked 7th in the AP Poll and 10th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll this week. Louisville enters the game with an overall record of 19-1 and 6-0 in league play. Louisville's 19-1 record is the best start in school history. Senior Angel McCoughtry leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 21.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Senior Candyce Bingham is second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 11.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
Connecticut enters the game as the top ranked team in the nation with a perfect 19-0 record and 5-0 in league play. Sophomore Maya Moore leads three Huskies scoring in double figures with 19.5 points per game. Moore also leads the team on the boards as well averaging 9.2 rebounds per game. Senior guard Renee Montgomery is second on the team in scoring with 16.8 points per game. Montgomery also leads the league in assists with 5.7 per game. Center Tina Charles rounds out the top scorers, averaging 16.4 points per game. Charles is second on the team in rebounding with 8.9 per game.
The game will be broadcast live on WKRD or at www.uoflsports.com. Jim Kelch will handle play-by-play duties while Adrienne Johnson will be the color analyst.
