McCoughtry Earns First All-American Honors

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville junior standout Angel McCoughtry was named a second team All-American by ESPN.com. McCoughtry is one of 10 players to earn All-American honors by ESPN.com. and one of two players from the BIG EAST Conference.
"One of just four players in the country to average at least 20 points and nine rebounds per game -- and certainly the only one to also average four steals -- she has grown into more than just a statistical marvel under first-year coach Jeff Walz." said ESPN.com Columnist Graham Hays.
McCoughtry led the BIG EAST in scoring, rebounding and steals this season with 23.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4.3 steals per game. She is a finalist for the Wooden Award and Wade Award this season. McCoughtry earned first team All-BIG EAST honors last week and was a member of the BIG EAST All-Tournament team.
